‘Healthy living is fun’ is a health education programme for pupils aged 8–10 years. It consists of a curriculum covering seven health topics, and was developed by a team of a physician and teachers. The programme follows an integrated, cognitive concept of health education. By a creative approach the pupils learn to appreciate their body and, consequently, to avoid risk factors. A prospective evaluation study is being carried out in cooperation with the German Institute for High Blood Pressure Research, Heidelberg, Federal Republic of Germany.
